My Story:
Each one of us has a story.  My story begins as the eldest daugher of a white
Catholic family.  We lived on a farm until I was school age, and then we moved into
the city.  I was very comfortable in nature, running barefoot in the fields, playing in
the dirt alongside the animals, birds, and insects.  When my family moved into the
city, a part of my spirit was left on the farm.

During my early thirty's, I reached a point in my life where I felt very disconnected
from myself, and the world I was functioning in.  I found myself through exploring
Native American traditions, ceremonies, prayer, and drumming.  I also learned that
over time, I was Chippewa.  My great grandfather was born in Flambeau,
Wisconsin.  He later owned a hotel / saloon in Bloomer.

My main inspiration and teacher has been Brooke Medicine Eagle, and I also learned
a lot from Ed McGaa.  As much as I have tried to be a part of the Native traditional
movement, I have learned I am contemporary.  I am a blend of my red heart and the
white world.  I live in the twenty-first century, and I have to do the best I can to
bring nature and tradition to my urban lifestyle.  Spending time in nature,
participation in sweat lodges, attending pow-wows, participation, and drumming
circles have all helped me to come back home to myself - to feel a connection to the
circle of life.  I have been a student, and I have been a teacher.  I continue to walk
the medicine wheel of life.

My intention is to share what I have learned with others.  We receive gifts daily on
our journey in life, as well as the gifts we are born with.  We are meant to share
these gifts to help make the world a better place - Healing ourselves, each other, and
Mother Earth.

Some of the activities that I have been invited to facilitate are as follows:

Full Moon Circle:  Healing Circle involving Native American music, Prayer,
drumming, and education.

Indian Night/Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary:  Teaching through storytelling,
drumming and song as part of the wagon ride tour.

Family Center:  Sharing Information with families regarding pow-wows and the
Native American way of life.

Exploring the Healing Benefits of Drumming/YMCA:  Experiential workshop
exploring various rhythms and educational information regarding the physical and
emotional healing effects of drumming.

Peace Camp:  A three day event in the summer, that incorporates experimental
learning of various culture rituals, which enhance acceptance, unity, and peace
within a community.  Children attending are ages 5 - 12.  In this camp, I am able to
share my information regarding Native American Lifestyles, Rituals, and Song &
Drumming.
